Still waiting

David Munchinski Posted by Hello

A visiting judge heard arguments today in Pittsburgh on whether David Munchinski should be freed on bail after 20 years in prison.

Last month, Judge Barry Feudale reversed Munchinski's conviction for a double murder in Fayette County in 1977, citing evidence of rampant prosecutorial misconduct. But the state appealed the decision and at Thursday's hearing, Feudale indicated he might not be able to free Munchinski until that appeal is resolved.

Bill Moushey's investigation of the Munchinski case uncovered evidence showing the key eyewitness against Munchinski was't even in Pennsylvania on the night of the killings, blood found at the scene doesn't match Munchinski and police ignored other likely suspects.
